Treatment Plan

Your treatment plan will consist of the following steps:

  1. Evaluation and Planning: Before the implant surgery, we will need to conduct a thorough evaluation of your oral health. This involves a clinical examination and may also include dental imaging such as a 3D scan. Based on this evaluation, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

  2. Implant Placement: The implant is surgically inserted into the jawbone. This is usually done under local anesthesia, so it is a painless process. Once the implant is in place, you will have to wait for a period of a few months to allow the implant to integrate with the bone in a process called osseointegration.

  3. Restoration Placement: Once the implant has fully integrated with the bone, an abutment is attached to the implant. The abutment will hold the artificial tooth or teeth in place. When the abutment is secured, the artificial tooth or teeth (denture, crown or bridge) will be attached.

  4. Follow-Up: We will schedule follow-up visits to monitor the health of your implant and the surrounding tissue.

Alternative Treatment Options

In some cases, dental implants may not be the best treatment option. Here are some alternatives you might consider:

  • Dental Bridges: A dental bridge is a type of dental restoration that can replace one or more missing teeth. It is called a bridge because it spans the gap where the teeth are missing.

  • Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are removable appliances that can replace one or more missing teeth. They are held in place by clasps that fit onto nearby healthy teeth.

  • Full Dentures: Full dentures are a removable option for people who have lost all their natural teeth.

Estimated Cost

The cost of dental implants can vary depending on a variety of factors including the number of implants required, the type of implant used, and whether or not additional procedures such as bone grafting are necessary. Here is a rough breakdown of the cost of a single dental implant following the AUTONOME HONORARRICHTLINIEN guidelines:

Description Quantity Price (€)
Simple Implantation with sufficient bone offer (with 3D implant navigation and punch technique) 1 1,476
Individual Abutment 1 280
Full Ceramic Crown (Jacket Crown) 1 1,132
Diagnostic Package (3D Scan, 3D DVT, Implant Planning) 1 180

Please note, the above prices are indicative and the final cost may vary based on your individual treatment plan.

Glossary

  • Dental Implant: A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth.

  • Crown: A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant.

  • Osseointegration: Osseointegration refers to the process where the dental implant anchors and integrates with the jawbone.

  • Bone Grafting: Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that replaces missing bone in order to repair bone fractures that are extremely complex, pose a significant health risk to the patient, or fail to heal properly.
