Wieviele Implantate brauche ich um im Oberkiefer wieder feste Zähne zu haben. Wie sind die Kosten? Wie lange dauert es?
Treatment Plan and Procedure
Step 1: Consultation and diagnosis
The first step involves a detailed consultation and examination. This includes checking the patient’s medical history, conducting a comprehensive oral examination, and taking X-rays or CT scans to assess the condition of the jawbone, oral tissue, and surrounding structures. We will discuss all the possible treatment options, and together, we will choose the best plan tailored to your needs.
Step 2: Planning the treatment
After the diagnosis, we turn to treatment planning. Using computer-assisted implantology, we can precisely plan the optimal position, angle, and depth of each implant. The aim is to maximize function and aesthetics while minimizing potential complications and discomfort.
Step 3: Surgical placement of implants
Implant placement surgery is performed under local anesthesia. Using 3D implant navigation and punch technique, tiny incisions are made in the gum, and the implants are placed in the optimal pre-planned locations. The number of implants required will depend on the individual condition of your jawbone and the type of prosthesis. For a full-arch restoration, usually, 4-6 implants are sufficient.
Step 4: Healing and Osseointegration
After the surgery, a period of 3-6 months is required for the implants to fully integrate with the bone, a process known as osseointegration. During this time, temporary prostheses may be used to restore function and appearance.
Step 5: Final Prosthesis
Once the implants have integrated, they are ready to support the final prosthesis. Impressions are taken and used to fabricate individual abutments and ceramic crowns that perfectly match your natural teeth in shape, color, and size.
Step 6: Follow-up and maintenance
After the final prosthesis is attached, regular follow-up visits are necessary to ensure the health of the implants, oral tissues, and prostheses. Proper oral hygiene, combined with regular check-ups and professional cleanings, will ensure the longevity of your dental implants.
Alternative Treatment Options
Implants are an excellent solution for replacing missing teeth, but they are not the only option. Other treatments that could be considered include:
- Removable Dentures: These are the most cost-effective solution, but they may not offer the same level of comfort, stability, and aesthetics as implants.
- Fixed Bridges: These can be a good option if you have healthy teeth adjacent to the missing tooth that can support a bridge. However, they require the grinding down of healthy teeth.
- Bone grafting or sinus lifts: If the available bone volume is insufficient, these procedures can help create a suitable environment for traditional implants. These are more invasive procedures and require a longer healing period.
Costs
Following the AUTONOME HONORARRICHTLINIEN 2022/2023 guidelines:
Procedure | Quantity | Cost |
Simple Implantation with adequate bone (with 3D implant navigation and punch technique) | 4-6 | 5,904€ – 8,856€ |
Individual abutment | 4-6 | 1,120€ – 1,680€ |
Full ceramic crown | 4-6 | 4,528€ – 6,792€ |
Diagnosis Package (3D Scan, 3D DVT, Implant planning) | 1 | 180€ |
The total estimated cost for full-arch rehabilitation in the upper jaw using implants would range from 11,732€ to 17,508€. Please note that this is a general estimate and the actual costs may vary depending on individual treatment needs and circumstances.
Duration
The entire process, from initial consultation to final prosthesis, can take anywhere from 6 to 8 months. This includes a healing period of 3 to 6 months after implant placement for osseointegration to occur. However, the actual timeline may vary depending on individual healing responses and the specific needs of your case.
Summary
Restoring your smile with dental implants is a big decision that should not be taken lightly. It is a significant investment in terms of time, money, and commitment to oral care. However, the benefits – improved oral health, comfort, aesthetics, and quality of life – make it a worthwhile investment for many people. Always discuss your concerns, expectations, and options with your dental professional to make an informed decision.
Please note that this treatment plan is a general outline, and the specifics may vary based on individual needs and circumstances. Always consult with a dental professional for personalized advice.
