What kind of tumor did Sigmund Freud have

·

·

Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, had a malignant tumor, specifically an epithelioma, which is a type of carcinoma. This was located in his mouth and was related to his heavy cigar smoking habit. Freud’s tumor was an oropharyngeal cancer, which affected his jaw and palate. Throughout his life, Freud underwent more than 30 surgeries to address the cancer and related health issues. Despite the extensive treatments, the cancer significantly impacted his health in his later years.
