I have one protruding front tooth. I am now 17 years, when should I start orthodontic treatment? Is an aligner possible?

The ideal time to begin orthodontic treatment varies greatly based on individual circumstances, and there isn’t a definitive age that is optimal for everyone. However, since you’re 17, it is likely that all of your permanent teeth have already erupted, a factor that can make orthodontic treatment more straightforward.
Regarding your question about using an aligner, yes, it is certainly possible. Invisalign® is one of the most successful aligner systems globally and is a great option for many orthodontic concerns, including protruding teeth. This system uses clear, removable aligners to gradually shift your teeth into their correct positions.
The treatment process usually involves the following steps:
- Initial Consultation: During your first office visit, your orthodontist will evaluate your teeth and overall oral health to determine if Invisalign is the best treatment option for you. This visit may also include taking photos and X-rays of your mouth.
- Creating Your Treatment Plan: If Invisalign is the right fit, the orthodontist will take digital scans of your teeth. These scans will be used to create a 3D model of your mouth, which will enable the orthodontist to map out a precise treatment plan. You’ll also be able to see a virtual representation of how your teeth will move during treatment and what they should look like once treatment is completed.
