Treatment Plan

Consultation and Pre-Surgical Planning (Day 1)

The dental implant process starts with a consultation where we’ll discuss your needs, evaluate your oral health and take a 3D scan of your mouth. Using computer-navigated implantology, we’ll design a precise, custom treatment plan. This plan will determine the optimal position, depth, and angle for the implant.

Implant Surgery (Day 2-3)

After local anesthesia, we’ll make a small incision in your gum to expose the bone. We’ll then use a special drill to create a space for the implant. Using our computer-guided system, we’ll place the implant into the bone with high precision. The implantation process usually takes about an hour, depending on the number of implants being placed.

Healing and Osseointegration (Day 4 – Week 12)

Following the surgery, a healing period of 2-4 months is necessary for the implant to integrate with the bone, a process called osseointegration. During this time, you’ll follow a soft food diet and practice good oral hygiene to aid the healing process. You’ll also have follow-up visits to monitor your progress.

Abutment Placement (Week 13)

Once osseointegration is complete, we’ll attach an abutment to the implant. The abutment is a small connector that secures the crown (the visible part of the tooth) to the implant.

Crown Placement (Week 14-16)

After the gum around the abutment has healed, we’ll take another 3D scan to design your custom crown. The crown is made from ceramic material that matches the color of your natural teeth. Once the crown is ready, we’ll secure it to the abutment.

Post-Operative Care and Maintenance

Maintaining your new implant is similar to caring for your natural teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are essential for the longevity of your implant.

Optional: Immediate Loading

In certain cases where bone quality and quantity are sufficient, we can perform immediate loading. This means the abutment and temporary crown are placed on the same day as the implant surgery. However, this option should be discussed and decided during the consultation stage.

Alternative Treatment Options

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a non-surgical alternative to dental implants. It involves placing a false tooth, held in place by the adjacent teeth. However, this option requires the neighboring teeth to be filed down, which can lead to potential damage.

Partial Denture

A removable partial denture can replace missing teeth without surgery. However, dentures may not provide the same stability as implants and can sometimes lead to bone loss in the area of the missing teeth.

No Treatment

Choosing not to replace a missing tooth is also an option. However, this can lead to problems such as shifting of adjacent teeth, difficulty chewing, and potential self-consciousness about your smile.
